INEC Offices in Kogi Set Ablaze Ahead Of Saturday's Election

Unidentified hoodlums burned down the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kogi State around 2 am on Friday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).  The offices were located in the Dekina Local Government Area (LGA).
According to NAN, INEC materials were used to start the fire. Despite the incident the Regional Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kogi State, Halilu Pai, maintained that the elections would go forward.
“We will not succumb to the undemocratic antics of a few, replacement of the election materials are already on the way; the election will go on as scheduled,” Mr. Pai told media sources.
